Dr. Romana Jordan holds a bachelor's degree from Electrical Engineering, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering.

 

Dr. Jordan worked from 1990 until 2004 as researcher at Jožef Stefan Institute. She was mostly involved in the safety assessments of complex technologies, such as nuclear reactors and chemical industry.

In 2004 dr. Jordan was elected as Member of the European Parliament on the list of the Slovenian Democratic Party. During this term she was Vice-President of the Committee on Development and Coordinator in the Committee for Climate Change. In June 2009 she was re-elected for her second mandate. She is currently vice-coordinator of the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and Vice-President of the European Energy Forum.
